What You’ll Learn:

Understand the core concepts of Information Governance and why they matter to every team, in every industry—far beyond traditional records management.

Learn why Information Governance is a strategic imperative for every function, in any industry, at any scale.

This session is ideal for business leaders, compliance officers, records and information managers, IT professionals, and anyone responsible for managing organizational data.

Whether you’re in the public or private sector, understanding the fundamentals of Information Governance will help you reduce risk, improve decision-making, and align information practices with strategic goals. If your organization handles data—this session is for you.

Brought to you by:

Jason C. Stearns FAI, IGP, CIPM, CIPP/US, CRM

Jason is the CEO and Owner of JCS InfoGov Consulting, Managing Director with Sharer Law and LexShift, Senior Practice Lead at Arrayo, and Co-Founder and Co-Owner of mosaIQ. A recognized leader in the information governance space, Jason served on the ARMA International Board of Directors from 2017–2022, including as President, and currently chairs both the ARMA International Content and Standards Development Committee and the IGIM Revision Working Group. He has also served as Chair of the IGP Board of Directors and President of the ARMA Metro NYC Chapter.

Jason’s career includes senior roles in information governance at BlackRock, Citadel, UBS AG, and New York Life Insurance Company. Today, he balances multiple roles across consulting, professional services, and legaltech development.

Jason holds a Master’s in Legal Studies in Cybersecurity and Information Privacy Compliance from Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law, an MS in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon, and a BA from Binghamton University. He is a certified IGP, CIPM, CIPP/US, CRM, and holds several other industry credentials. In 2024, he was honored with induction into the ARMA International Company of Fellows (FAI).

Outside of work, Jason is a dedicated yogi who travels often—especially for yoga retreats and the occasional adventurous escape. He lives in New York with his four cats (Jinkx, Shadow, Raven & Miss Baby Jane) and an ever-growing indoor jungle of plants. When he’s not on the mat or a plane, you’ll likely find him in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, catching the latest episode from the global RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise, or debating the finer points of AI, compliance, and privacy.

Rick Stirling, FAI

A pioneer in Records and Information Management, Rick Stirling has been involved in the industry for over twenty-five years, the last 20 as president of WesternIM.

From his involvement in the delivery of the first content management and electronic records management software solutions ever created, to being one of the creators of the ARMA Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles, past chair of the IGP (Information Governance Professional) certification board, Rick’s experience and influence is widespread across North America.

The integration of AI into the RIM profession has created the most interesting time of my entire career, allowing formerly impossible tasks to finally be realized.

Today Rick is a Fellow of ARMA International and one of Canada’s most respected authorities on Records and Information Management.
